First doc appointment

in 1st Trimester

Will my husband be able to come back with me for the whole appointment or will it just be me back there at first?

How long should I plan for it to last?

    Unless your doc's office has some weird rule about it, yes, he can stay with you the whole time.

    With my son it really didn't take that much longer than my usual annual appt.

    We were there for about an hour. I also needed a pap smear and annual exam, which was done first. The doctor gave DH the option to leave during that part but he didn't. She also just talked to us for awhile and answered any questions. The ultrasound was last.

    I think it's pretty normal for guys to attend their wives' appointments. I doubt anyone has a problem with it.

    DH went with me to all of my appointments for DD. and my Dr was really happy that he did, it made him feel more 'apart' of the pregnancy.

    1st time around my doc said "If he was there at the start of it, he should be through all of it!"  Ha!
