Babies: 9 - 12 Months

How do you store baby's books?

Right now I have them in random baskets, but that is quickly losing its appeal. I'm looking at some at Target, but they don't seem to hold very many.

I'm about to "inherit" a ton of books.  I'm really excited to have them, but have no clue where I'm going to put them.

Suggestions?

  • I hope this isn't a trick question but I just use a bookcase.

Lol- I should have mentioned this in the original post. If you use a bookcase- how do you keep it from tipping over if baby pulls on it?

  • Ok, that makes more sense Smile

I will look for a picture but will try to describe what we have in the meantime.  The shelf we use is deeper and a little shorter than the cheapo ones you can get to put together at Walmart so it is more stable.  We didn't anchor it to the wall though I know you can buy anchors.  We keep the books on the bottom shelf so pulling up on it hasn't been an issue.

As a sidenote, Princess B pulls herself up on our shelves in the hall (and pulls off all the books!) and tipping has never been a problem.  The shelves don't even wobble and they are the put-together ones (sauder I think).

    HTH!

    Furniture straps.

You screw the strap to the wall and the top or back of the bookcase, so baby can't rock the furniture.
