do i have the myth wrong?

i always thought that faster heartbeats meant a girl and slower meant a boy. my sister is pregnant and today is her first u/s. i told her that i know its only a myth, but it held true for us...heart rate under 140 and we had a boy. she said its the other way around. which is it?

They claim higher for a girl. For my 1st u/s with DS, his heartbeat was 160, and the tech said "Oh I bet it's a boy", which didn't make sense to me cuz if a normal range is 120-180, 160 is on the higher end. after that it was always 140-150's. I know many people who can dispute it, and I certainly don't believe in any of the myths!

DD's heartrate was always above 150. Before we had our u/s my OB told me he predicted she would be a girl based on her heartrate, and was even calling her "she". He was correct. I think it's a pretty accurate theory if OBs go by it.

Faster is a girl. I don't by it though

Both my cousin and I had fast heartbeats at the u/s (the babies were at about 160) and we both had boys.

Supposedly, higher = girl.

It was totally wrong for us. Both were over 160 and both were boys!

FWIW, the Chinese gender predictor was wrong too!

DS1 and this baby's (another boy) heartbeat was always around 160

DD was always below 140. The new baby has been hanging out around 170-180.

I was always told that it was faster for a girl/slower for a boy. That being said, DD was in the 130's and DS was in the 150's so it wasn't right for us.

Ds always had a higher heart rate... in the 150s. They don't even tell me what the heart rate is for this pregnancy.

same here. DD 's heartrate was always around 140-145 and the chinese gender predictor said BOY. although my OB guessed girl one random visit and she was right.
