I'm wondering as to when I should transition LO to her crib. She has been STTN consistently for some time now. I just don't know when the right time is. How old was your LO when you made the transition? Thanks!
We moved DS to his crib when he was a week old. He was a squeaker though and was the loudest newborn I have ever heard. He would be squeaking and squawking in his sleep, but in my sleep deprived state I would think he was awake and hungry. I would pick him up and then wake him up....not fun!!
We transitioned DD early at 3 weeks, she really didn't like her bassinet much. She did really well with the transition, she has been STTN since she was 8 weeks old.

At 12 weeks. He hated his bassinet from the get go, so we bed shared and loved it...but we were just ready to reclaim our bed. He's doing really well with it so far, it has been about a week and a half. He doesn't hate it at all like he did his bassinet.

DD was 3.5 months old when we did. She had been STTN since 9 weeks old. DH was the one who pushed for it. I would have been fine waiting a while longer, but it's worked out well. Don't feel like there's a certain time when you "should" transition. Just wait until you're ready
ETA: My stipulation for moving her was that we buy a video monitor. This way, if I hear her in the middle of the night, I can look over and see if she's really awake and needing me or if she's just restless. It was a nice peace of mind for me.
5ish weeks (when my Mom, who was there to help, had left because she was sleeping in the nursery). He had been napping in there from about week 2, though.
We moved her to her crib at 9 weeks. She has always been a great sleeper but she moves around alot. She was sleeping from 10pm to 5am at 7 weeks and shortly after moving her to her crib, she started sleeping from 8pm to 8am.
3 weeks and it wasn't a bad transition. one thing i suggest is trying the crib for a nap one day to get used to then go full on with transition. it helped us!

First day back from the hospital. She's a loud sleeper (grunting) and a mover and everyone sleeps better this way. (We've co-slept on trips away from home and it is NOT FUN. DD whacks us in the face and her grunting keeps us up all night.)

DS was three months old. I thought I had to wait until he was STTN to move him into his own room. DD has been in her crib since day one. I suggest making the move as soon as you feel comfortable with it. Very small infants are easily adapted to change. Older infants take longer. Starting DD out in there was the best thing I ever did. She has never given me a problem going into it.
We did at about 2 months. She was just getting too long (she's very long!) for her bassinet. She slept restlessly in it as well and now sleeps like a dream in her crib.
We finally got the crib set up this past weekend (so, 3mos1wk?) and just put him in it to sleep. We didn't think of it as an actual transition at all.......just where he would be sleeping thereafter. The only reason we waited this long was because we procrastinated taking the crib apart in DD's room and then moving it into our room, only to put it right back together after having to take off both doors! lol
eta: this is really crazy and over-worrying of me but i also wanted to wait till 4 mon because the sids risk starts to decrease then. i know thats absolutely ridiculous but i check to make sure hes breathing all the time too... i just need to get over it.
Still haven't either. We were too worried about the SIDS risk throughout the summer since we only had one A/C upstairs this summer - in our bedroom (our other one got fried when we had water in the basement this spring). Since I have read in multiple places that over heating is a major risk factor with SIDS - we weren't taking any chances. He still sometimes wakes up at night and needs to be comforted back to sleep - and occasionally still nurses. I love being able to check on him too and make sure everything is ok if I wake up in the middle of the night. We will start the transition next month as long as the temps start to drop as they normally do at this time of year.
still havent and he is just about 4 mon. he doesnt sleep through the night, but once hes done with this cough/cold, we are moving him to his crib. (or at least we will try it out.) not sure how well that would work since he wakes up randomly needing his paci to be put back in, but he is def outgrowing his mini arm's reach...
if my lo was sleeping through the night like yours though, id have no problem moving him

I do this as well. DD still sleeps in our room. DH has suggested me move her but I am still paranoid about SIDS.
3 months. He was outgrowing his bassinet by that time, so it had to be done. Plus, I wasn't quite so nervous having him in the next room, and I was getting pretty tired of waking up at every movement and coo he made. The transition went very smoothly, though I miss him:)
Re: ? From 0-3 - When Did You Move LO To Their Crib?
At 5 weeks.....he didn't sleep well in his bassinet and his nursery is very close to our room. He started sttn the same week we moved him to the crib.

We did the same with my DD.

We transitioned for night sleeping at 1month with absolutely no issues. For naps around 2months.
