So, i came back from my first ob appt today and they gave the option of having a traditional appointment, which consists of waiting in the waiting room for who knows how long and seeing my doctor for a short time OR something called centering classes where you meet up once a month at the same time with other couples ( who are expecting around the same time as you) and you talk to these couples about what you are experiencing that month with your baby. You meet new people and stuff. There are a OB and a nurse present of course. Has anyone heard of this? the idea sounds good but never heard of it. let me know! thanks!
Re: centering classes
Centering classes are offered by our OB too. It sounds like a great way to get more time with a doctor and be around other pregnant women to dicuss issues, ect. The only issue for me is that I am a teacher and it might be hard for me to get away for the meetings for such a lengthy time. They meet for 2 hours once per month until the 7 month and then they meet twice a month for 2 hours. We also have a 30 min commute in so I'm not sure if I will particpate or not.
Do they offer different times? the ones here are 4-6. We like the idea of it, just curious about it all.
