Trouble TTC

IUI #2 Complete - Good and Bad

So the good news was that my DH's ovarall count number was over double what it was for the last IUI (33 million!) but sadly his motility was only half what it was before (11%)

So we ended up post wash with 3.6 million total mobile sperm.  Almost the exact number of our last IUI but at least this time they have more targets.

It seems like the clomid might be working for him though - it is supposed to increase count and it def. did.  Now if we could just get the motility back over 20% we would be in decent shape.  It crazy how different it can be from sample to sample.

My RE tried to reassure me that they have had many successful IUIs when the count was only 2 million or less, so this is not impossible.

I am going to try to stay hopeful but I am really glad for my IVF consult tomorrow.

Thanks for all the well wishes this morning!!

I think that's good news overall. Looks like the Clomid is really working for him! That's a huge increase in count.

I'm crossing my fingers that this IUI works and your IVF consult tomorrow will be a big waste of money :)

  • Sounds like both our H's have "rollercoaster sperm" as my nurse put it! We had similar motility problems this time too.  You've got 4 great follies in there, though, so I hope this is IT for you!!  GL and I hope the 2ww goes by quickly for you!

  • The variation in numbers was so frustrating to me during our IUIs.  When one number was good, the others sucked.  It was annoying.

I read about a lady who is now pregnant with twins with a count of 700,000 -- it's obviously possible!  I hope this is it for you!  Good luck and I hope that your consult tomorrow is a big waste of time!
