DH and I decided to have the NT scan done with this baby, and at my 11 wk appointment my OB said that they should have already scheduled it. I called her office for a week until the nurse in charge of scheduling those things said that she had sent all my paperwork to the hospital and they would be calling me to schedule the scan...at this point I'm 12 weeks. So we waited, and waited, called my OB office back and they said to sit tight, they should be calling any day now. So today...13 weeks...they finally call, and ask if I can come in tomorrow at 12:45. wtf! I have to go to a women's hospital that is 2 hrs away for the scan and can't find a babysitter for tomorrow. DH is unsure if he can get off work to go and taking my DS alone is definitely not an option. Their next opening is next Monday, but after looking at her chart and seeing that I was measuring 4 days ahead at my 10wk u/s they won't take me after this Friday.
So yeah, no NT scan for us.
Oh and the nurse also said 'this is your 3rd pregnancy, right?' and I said no, second. And she was like 'yeah but you had a termination with another.' Uhh I most definitely did NOT (to each their own, but I have never had one)...so where in the hell in my chart is she seeing that I had an abortion?! I'm definitely taking that up with my Dr at my next appointment.
Ok, major vent over. Sorry for being so whiney...DH is in meetings all day and I had to complain to someone!
Re: Fuming over (lack of) NT scan!!
so sorry. what a mess!!!!
I'd definetly be talking to the doc about things in your chart.
hope your day gets better sweetie!

All of our families live OOT, so that's not an option. In fact it's the main reason we wanted to do the testing this time around. In case something is wrong, we can be better prepared by having a nanny to help out with DS, etc. I definitely can't do it alone.
I have friends who would normally help out and watch DS tomorrow but they have pre-school orientation, a house showing, etc.
And you're right, it's not mandatory. I'm ok with not having it done I guess...I'm just really heated about the crappy way in which it was handled...ya know?
If it makes you feel better they scheduled mine and then found out i was measuring TWO WEEKS ahead....i didn't get one either!
I had to go in for a semi-emergency and had no one to keep DS. I brought him with me and one of the nurses at the office was kind enough to walk him around while I was getting my cervix checked and stuff.
Maybe you might be able to get some help from someone up there? Or just strap him in his stroller and let him scream
