Jeans for chubby babies?

I am looking for a good rec. on jeans for DS. He has a big belly and it seems like most jeans we have tried either won't button, or are super tight on his stomach. I am trying to find him a good pair of jeans for fall. Any ideas??

The only success we have had so far is buying a few sizes up, but he is pretty short for his age so they are WAY too long!

TIA :)

Re: Jeans for chubby babies?

  • Gymboree seems to have wider waistbands, and maybe the Children's place? I've never tried their pants for DS but they look roomier than most.

The target brand jeans (they're $7) seem pretty straight through the hip and waist, so they might have more room as well.

  • I would say try Gymboree or Crazy 8. They both have the stretch waist band and that seems to help. I've bought both for DS but he hasn't worn them yet because it's too hot here still.

  • DS is 28 lbs and on the shorter side.  We just got him a pair of jeans from Old Navy that are perfect.  They are the loose fit style.

ETA:  We bought these and these

  • Gymboree worked best for DS when he was bigger. Some gap styles were okay. The cheaper brands (children's place, old navy, crazy 8) ran much slimmer IMO.
  • The best jeans for LO's in my opinion is Pumpkin Patch, they have this awesome waistband. It has a button on each side and you can loosen or tigthen the waistband as needed. Honestly they are great!!!!
