Opinions on Nephele?

Pronounced NEF-UH-LEE, although there are other ways. I came across it earlier and really like it. It's from Greek mythology. Opinions?

Oh, dear.

I have a very good friend named Nephele. I love it. It's a beautiful name. She's Greek. But no one -- I mean NO ONE -- can pronounce it. No one. It's caused her so many problems in business and I cringe on her behalf whenever I hear people mangle it.

I like Greek names as well, but not this one.

The name itself isn't so bad, but people will mispronounce it when they see it written, or she'll always have to spell it out for people (sometimes multiple times) her whole life.

1) It sounds made up.

2) It will always be misspelled.

3) It will always be mispronounced.

Honestly, it kind of sounds like a medical condition. I would recommend that you go back to the drawing board.

What is up with all of these posts about Greek mythological names? Hmm

I think a lot of people will have a very hard time figuring out how to pronounce this name correctly which would be very annoying to me if it were my name.
