Spider Veins!

I woke up this morning and thought I had some bruising or dirt on my calf, as I was trying to rub it off I realized it was spider veins :( Also every morning when I wake up lately it seems I have the starts of a varicose vein on my other calf. Anyone else getting these so soon, any ideas about what can be done?? I have heard it's really hereditary and my mom got them really bad with all four of us kids and I'd really like to not have the same problem!!!

Re: Spider Veins!

  • Welcome to my world..  yeah, I have them too.  I have spider veins on my thighs and the veins or whatever they are on my feet totally freaked me out the other day after work.  For the feet I'm guessing just about the only thing I can do is keep my feet elevated.  My mom shared with me that when she had me she was put on bedrest from swelling in her legs the last few weeks before I was born.  Oh joy joy...

  • Me too! I have always had some on my upper thighs but I noticed the spider veins are now on my calves too.  Confused
  • I have some, too, on my lower, inner thigh right above my knee.  I had them with my last pregnancy, and they mostly went away, but I'm sure they'll be around to stay this time.

  • I have them already do, my feet and my inner thighs I have noticed the most new ones!  I have a history of blood clots and my grandmother's legs look like a kid drew on them her veins are so bad so I'm guessing I don't have much hope!
  • I've read that laying on your back causes the blood from your legs to have a hard time returning to your heart causing varicose veins. My SIL said she was told to put her legs up a few minutes a day to help her circulation.

  • add me to the vein team!  I plan on getting mine zapped postpartum.  I have had it done before and it's a snap, they inject some sort of solution in them and they go away.  Not that expensive either, I was surprised.
