Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

What is your toddler's personality like?

I feel like at this age their personality is really starting to develop. I love watching the little person that my baby is becoming. What is your kids personality like?

My daughter is SO friendly. She loves people, especially other kids. She loves attention and crowds and just being active. She fiercely independent but still loves her cuddles and hugs. Seriously, my kid is a huge, huge hugger. She absolutely determined to do what she wants. She gets very frustrated if she can't do something right away or if I stop her from doing things. Stubborn as a mule.

Re: What is your toddler's personality like?

  • Cautious, calm, sweet, independent, precise, happy, careful, and analytical - she assesses situations and watches intently before joining in or tackling a task.

And she is absolutely the dearest creature on earth - although that may be a little more of a subjective overview ;)

  • He is really easy-going.  He is almost always happy, loves to snuggle with his stuffed animals, seeks out attention and interaction with people when we're in public, and is just generally really easy and good-natured.  DH and I are both type-A VERY energetic people, so I'm curious to see if LO keeps being so easy and laid-back.
  • My daughter is sooo funny. She puts on the biggest cheese smile ever, shes so cute. Shes so hard headed and stubborn (gets it from her dad). She's also very shy and cautious.

  • She's very silly, extremely goofy.  She has a laugh that is very funny and people always comment on how unique it is.  She's enjoys playing by herself and is independent.  She likes to figure things out on her own.  She's cautious.  She won't do something (crawl, walk, etc) unless she's 100% confident she can do it 100%.  She's very laid back (like me:)) and easily adapts to any situation.  Love her :)
  • Usually very happy, loves to say hello to people and give them high fives/fist bumps, inquisitive, determined, loving and somewhat of a stinker.
  • Christian is very sweet.  He loves to be the center of attention and entertain family & friends.  He is a total mama's boy (which I love). =)  He is eager to learn new things and loves to read (look at pictures in books).  He's not a morning person and would sleep in until 9am everyday if he could.  He loves his blankie and bottle ...those are his comforts.

He is crazy about dogs - of all sizes.  He lights up when he sees the bowl of cut-up watermelon coming out of the fridge (we use a certain bowl for it).  He is very ticklish and has a great sense of humor.  He's all eyes when we're out and about - taking everything in...you can actually see him learning about the world around him.

He's amazing and my favorite person in the world!!!

ETA:  He is also VERY stubborn (like his daddy), knows exactly what he wants and if he doesn't get it he gets MAD!!!  Temper temper.

  • Bold, fearless, goofy, very active, adventurous, and sweet
  • laid back and adventurous, go figure. He finds himself pretty funny too, lol
  • Alyssa is always busy. Always. She is passionate, strong willed, and will let you know when she is unhappy with something. She is funny, loves hugs and kisses, very social and loves other kids and animals. And absolutely LOVES her 'nay nays' (when she sees a horse she shrieks from excitement in the most adorable way, Nay Nay!!!)  So stinking cute!

  • I love post like these to be able to read about other's lo's personalities.

My DD is Precocious - she is not a baby anymore, she's a big girl or so she thinks. She is the ideal first born VERY independent, she plays well with other kids, but she bosses around her grandpa and dad. She is EXTREMELY perceptive - this has been a good thing as well as the biggest challenge with her. She is not a shy or an easy child either. She is 'spirited' (or so I've read). She's a daredevil and climbs everything, she goes into everything with gusto, no fear until you put men or dogs into the equation then she becomes weary and very fearful. She's stubborn yet sweet. Very caring and loving little girl she likes to mother her dolls. Most of these traits I have seen in her since she was a small baby.

  • My daughter is very cautious about people and activities but once she trusts a person she becomes very loving and goofy. She knows what she wants and will be very expressive about it. She gets frustrated but that does not last long. She is always very clear on her feelings. She'd rather take her time on the playground assessing if it's safe. If she feels she is not safe she will not do it. She errs on the side of caution rather than just jumping into things.
  • Well I have 2 Type A boys so you can imagine what my days are like.

DS1 - is very very charming, loves attention from strangers, love girls (already), very hard headed, very cuddly and loving, gives kisses and hugs all the time, quick to apologize if he gets in trouble, wants things his way, loves to talk to anyone that will listen, blames everything on his brother, loves sports

DS2 - is very smiley, everything is always funny, he is very determined, has no fear, climbs on everything, like to go up to strangers also but does not want them to pick him up, thinks his smile will get him out of trouble, quick to fight back but does not start fights, very loving on his own but does not want to be cuddled, always wants to be with the person who is leaving, alway wants to be on the go

  • Cautious, shy until he knows you well. Extremely affectionate with us -- he has always been a "lap baby" and is now a "lap toddler!". He is just now starting to display some stubborn/independent traits which is really new for him. He is sensitive and gets overwhelmed easily, especially in a crowd, but in his comfort zone he is funny and curious and silly, laughing all the time.
