I found out yesterday that I'm not ovulating. I'm in my early 20s and didn't think I'd have an issue getting pregnant besides timing. However after getting off birth control and trying to get a chart going things weren't looking so good. I finally saw my Dr. after going 65 days without a period. Both DH and I were tested and got the news that the issue was on my end. I was disappointed to say the least. However I'm being referred to a specialist and hopefully we can get the ball rolling on TTC again. I've also been exploring the TCM route and met with a Dr today, I go back tomorrow to get the custom tea blend and perhaps go in for moxibustion which is a heat treatment.
So I'd like to know: has anyone else had this problem? How was your issue been treated? Anyone tried the traditional medicine route with success?
TIA
Re: Annovulation
I didn't ovulate for about 1 year after coming off of BC. I tried a few things, including accupuncture, before going to a specialist. I ended up ovulating on the first round of Clomid (50 mg).
Good luck to you. It does take a while for things to get back to "normal" after birth control. Hang in there!
I have PCOS and hadn't ovulate since who knows when (I came off BCP in Feb.). I did ovulate this cycle after taking metformin and actos, due to the fact that I am insulin resistant.
Personally, I wanted to know why I wasn't ovulating and trying to treat that problem. Mine is because my hormones are out of whack due to increased testerone, androgens, etc. Once my endo figured that out, he gave me the meds and I ovulated after only being on them for 2 weeks.
GL!
I have been having problems with my period (not the right color and I found out my womb wasn't warm enough) so I started going to TCM . I love it and have noticed a drastic difference in my overall health and menses . I also recommend the book THE Baby making bible by Emma Cannon

A super good read if you thinking going down the TCM route . She has delicious recipes and mixes eastern/western medical advice to get your period and fertility back on track. I cannot say enough good things about this book
That's the thing, I wasn't on birth control that long. I left BC just before a year. I was on BCP then on the ring. I know it takes a while to get off completely and I was willing to wait a year of TTC before going to the Dr, but after a 65 day cycle, I decided it's time to at least ask. I had another blood test done to check my thyroid, the Dr explained a little but didn't really understand why my thyroid would be causing annovulation.
I'm hoping a combo of TCM and modern medicine will do the trick!! I've already asked Santa for a baby for xmas
lol
