A little whine

So I got totally bummed out at work today, ladies.

I don't know if you all know, but we live in California, but we are originally from Michigan. My parents (not my siblings or grandparents), and his family all live there still. As soon as my parents heard about our pregnancy they started planning for us to come home for a shower.

They wanted to have us come home sometime in December or early January (I am not really willing to fly across the country much later than that), so I mentioned it to my boss as soon as I told him about the preg.

Found out today that one of the other girls I work with has requested 3 weeks off during December, so he is not allowing anyone else to take time off during that period.

Sad I am so sad now. The shower would have been great, but we were so excited at the thought of seeing family and friends. We last went home in Sept 09, so it will have been over a year since we last saw most people. I just hope we can find a way to work it out to fit in a visit sometime.

I am just really disappointed right now.

    Wow that sucks that one lady gets 3 weeks off in Dec and no one else can have off.  Could you possible have the shower a little earlier like the beginning on Dec or the end of Nov?  Sorry.

    I'd move it up. We're kinda in the same boat (live in CO family in IL and MN). We're doing a shower in October because we already had trip planned. I would rather have my showers in November or December but it was more important to celebrate with family then to have perfect timing!
