1st Trimester

all of you "I just knew" people.

yes you. The ones who are all: "zomg, it was our first time trying, I was 2 dpo & the stars/moon/sun aligned & I just KNEW I was pregnant! I can't explain it! I just FELT IT!! Squee! Glitter & puppies & unicorns & big fat rainbows!!"

GAG. Ick!

you were LUCKY. Lots of us have had that feeling before. Doesn't always mean you're KU.

Congrats on being KU. It's great. But there is no way in hell you knew that you were KU 2dpo. I don't care what you claim. It just makes you look more & more like a BSC 1st Tri poster.

(on a positive note you do provide some quality entertainment, so score for that!)

    Don't discourage them...the "I was 2 DPO..." response was my favorite. :)

  • Haha, I love the cynicism.

EDIT: Just wanted to add that there were no puppies or rainbows when I got my BFP this time. DH and I are still trying to tell ourselves that I'm pregnant...

  • My response was similar to yours. I felt the sperm biting my cervix as they chased the egg.
  • With DD, I thought I "knew" every month. And then BFN. It took us 6 months, which I know isn't that long of a wait. But with this one, I was just waiting for my period to start because I thought our timing was totally off.

  • You know, for as long as I've been on the Bump, I somehow missed the sperm meeting the egg post - but I hear about it all the time! Was it MUD or was it someone actually convinced they felt the sperm meet the egg?

If I can recall it was a chic who posted last summer. I never thought it was MUD. She hadnt been on the bump boards very long.

then again, the people claiming to be 2dpo probably have no idea when they even O'ed - which is another whole post entirely. lolz.

  • I knew at 2 dpo when I had a gush of vag glitter.

  • You have no idea how many times "I knew" and was wrong.  I had a serious addiction to peeing on sticks though and tested darn near every month.
  • The one time that I REALLY thought I was pregnant was the month that I was...but it sure as heck wasn't 2dpo....2dpo I was still working on baby dancing to make sure we covered our days, haha.  I had an inckling about 1 week past ovulation when I had symptoms of things that I had never had before...and of course I was telling myself that I was pregnant because I really wanted it, and I got my BFP.  But then 7 days before AF was due I got classic PMS symptoms so then I started to talk myself down again that just MAYBE I wasn't pregnant...but ended up I was...so really, people who say "I just knew" I think part of that is just their hopeful wishing because they want it so bad! Guess you can't really blame them, we all do it when we really want to get pregnant. :-)

  • Forgive me, because I'm still trying to figure out what the point of this post is.  Is it to bring a certain group of people down or to center a certain group of people out?  Sorry, but I don't find the humour in it.  I'll admit, I haven't been here for very long, but one thing I've noticed is that 1st Tri board seems to make fun of and gang up on people quite a bit.  We're pregnant.  Even if we've gone through this before, we are all experiencing things that are new to us and have questions that we never thought we'd have to ask before.  But we're also adults, and we should be supporting one another, not making certain groups of people feel total morons...

    oh, FFS. Lighten up sweetie.

How about this: let's go bake a pie. When we're done we can pet puppies & rub our pregnancy bellies together in the meadow full of flowers.

Is that supportive enough for you?

  • I got my BFP the ONE month out of the year we were TTC that I didn't feel pregnant, lol.  Caught me extremely off guard.  There is no way that anyone "knows" they are pregnant as soon as it happens.  They hope they are pregnant and they get lucky and they are.

  • It seems like so many of the "I just knew" people "just knew" on their first cycle. And then it turned out they were actually pregnant. Had they been trying a few cycles, they probably would have come to terms with the reality of phantom symptoms.

It's nice to think you knew at 2 DPO, but like others said, you weren't even pregnant then. The embryo had not implanted and no pregnancy hormone was being created.

I had a good idea I was pregnant before my BFP only because my chart was looking triphasic, something that only happened before with a BFP chart. I still wasn't 100% sure until the BFP.

I'm going to have to agree with this one.

Whether your sickly sweetness covered in glitter and butterlflies makes me want to vomit, or you leave me wondering who sharted in your decaf this morning (which is the case for most of you...though I should have expected it when I saw lots of you filtering over from TTC) we're all still here and going through the same things whether it be our first or fourth time.

Seriously, grow the f*ck up and stop picking fun at people. It's not cute, and kinda makes you look like an uneducated fool.

If it's just really exaggerated sarcasm, then WOW.  Must be rough having everyone on here trying to piss you off all of the time.  You don't sound entertained at all, just really bitter.

I had a feeling pretty early (isn't that why people take tests?).  I'm happy now but I cried at the time.  Nothing glittery about it.
