I was on another board and someone was talking about their long term plan regarding kids, money, etc. I remember being in that place where I thought we could time when we had kids and felt like we had control over how many we'd have. Now it just makes me laugh to hear others talk like that. Part of me is sad, but a bigger part is incredibly jealous. I miss feeling confident.
Anyone else feel something similar?
Re: Does anyone else laugh at others' plans for kids?

Oh ya. Some people really annoy me with this. NAIVE! For some sure it only takes once but obviously its not always that easy.
My BFF told me years ago that she wanted 5 kids and the last 2 were gonna be twins. first 3 would be back to back.
I have several friends like that and it is amazing that they have no idea how hard TTC can be. I have one good friend that had a surprise baby with her first and when she started TTC her second she got pregnant the first cycle.
I was talking to her a little about my IF issues last week and she actually told me to relax. I was floored! That was the first time I had ever gotten that comment.
Surprise Pregnancy 02/11!
I find myself laughing/snickering at people and their plans, especially the ones who think they can plan their due date. I'll admit that it's mostly jealousy, because I miss being that hopeful.
My favorites are the people who plan to have kids in a certain gender order, or the ones that think they can plan twins. So hard not to roll my eyes right in front of them!

FET#1 - April 2011 - BFN
FET#2 - June 2011 - BFN
I don't laugh, but I do make a comment on how I hope it happens like that for them, but it may not.
I used to say that I wanted a baby born in August (my mother's birthday was August) and low and behold, we are having problems.
You just never know.
It's even better when they start planning out your own conception plan ("we can have babies together"). We're not at the stage where we're telling people about our IF so we just reply with the usual "we'll see."
MPZ born June 2011
TTC #2 ... Cycle 1-3: IUI = BFN | Cycle 4: IVF ... canceled but 3 snow babies
Cycle 5: FET .. BFP! | EDD - 3/15/2014

Surprise Pregnancy 02/11!
Haha! I'm right there with you!
Surprise Pregnancy 02/11!
Yeah, absolutely! As if it were that easy...
Maybe it's the career field I'm in, but I feel there is a correlation between big bad event (losing a job) or poverty, (etc.) and up'd chances of fertility.
Kinda like the double whammy -
Honey, I have news?
Me too?
You first...
I'm Pregnant!!!
Oh... I got laid off today....
