    QOTD - I'll be taking maternity leave.  I just found out that I can take up to 12 weeks, the first 6 weeks are paid, the 2nd 6 weeks, short term disability covers so I'll get 70% pay.  As of now we are planning on taking the full 12 weeks unless something changes that doesnt allow for that.  DH will probably take 1-2 weeks off right after the birth.

    I'm self employed so I can only take off as many weeks as I can afford.. probably only 6. That said, I will probably work at home exclusively for a few more weeks, then ease into a routine of taking baby to daycare 2-3 days a week (work at home the other 2-3 days).

    My husband gets zero paid time off, so he will most likely go back to work as soon as we are discharged from the hospital.

    I plan to take 12 weeks under FMLA and my company's short term disability policy which pays at 75%.  DH will take 2 weeks of his vacation time.  After that, our babe goes to day care and I try not to freak out.

    Hi!  I was hoping to join the group.  My name is Sheri, 27 years old, and my due date is February 24th.

    QOTD: I will be taking 6 weeks as long as everything goes smoothly.  DH will be taking the first two weeks with me.  He also did this for our DS, which was awesome.

    I'm a working mom, but I only work part-time (usually Saturdays & Sundays). At this point I'm planning on taking the usual 6wks maternity leave and I believe SO is planning on taking a week off (not 100% sure how much time yet).

    I am not planning to return to work until next Sept. I was laid off the end of March. I am still looking for a job, but I really don't want to go back to work yet and I know that my chances of getting a job are very slim since I am starting to get a little bit of a belly. MH is self employed so if he doesn;t work then no money comes in. If the baby comes mid week I will probably co-erce him to take the rest of the week off and go back to work on a Monday. DS was born on a Friday. MH promised to take 1-2 wks off and then screwed me come Monday by going back to work.
