Those with Tall Skinny LO's

My daughter is 75 percentile for weight and 95th for height...and we are starting to have clothing issues.  For example at baby gap...she is at the height for the next size but has 5 more pounds to hit the weight for the next size....anyone else have this trouble?  My sister is 6 feet tall and my mom says it was really bad finding clothes for her also when she was little.

Re: Those with Tall Skinny LO's

  • Babygap has the adjustable waistband pants and they adjust down really far. Those might work. I think they start in the 12-18 month size.

I've noticed most brands have the adjustable waists starting around the size 2T and up.

Ds is tall and skinny too. I buy most of his pants at Osh Kosh and Carters because they tend to run longer and thinner in the waist. He just wears shirts baggy; not a whole lot I can do about that. lol

  • I have the same problem with DS. It's not bad in the summer with shorts, but I'm dreading finding pants when it gets colder. I don't remember where, but I bought adjustable jeans and cords last year.
  • I think baby gap has adjustable waist bands. I am at a loss with DD, she is 25 %tile for height I think but she is below 5th%tile for weight. So the inseam on something is always too short but the waist is wayyy to big.

  • Adjustable waist pants are great. Children's Place also has them. Otherwise she wears a lot of dresses because they're OK if they're a bit baggy, and will be OK later if they're a little shorter.

  • Thats us. I bought him his first belt for that reason. Another place that has adjustable waist is CP. Im pretty sure thats where his cords came from. On a side note we just got jeans from Old Navy and they seem like they will fit well for fall/winter. And a plus i got 2 pair for 20 bucks!

  • DS is 8% for weight and 74% for height and we have the best luck at Children's Place for adjustable waist pants. I just buy for length and then adjust the waist.

  • we have the same issue and I posted the other day about it. Someone recommended Dapper Snappers-  they snap through belt loops to adjust the waist band  (we have some adjustable waist pants from crazy8, but even on the smallest they are big).  I just ordered the dapper snappers and am hoping they help!

  • The Sonoma brand at Kohls also have adjustable waist jeans.  I just picked up a few pairs for DD last week.

  • i've got a 67th weight/98th height kiddo .. my sil whose daughter has the same build already advised me that adjustable waist bottoms are a godsend !  oshkosh makes pants/skirts/shorts w/ this feature. `

  • My boys are in the >5% for weight and 35% for height... the only places they can wear pants from are OshKosh and Carters... all the other places with the adjustable waist are too wide for them...
