Cloth Diapering

Making the Switch! Q's

I have a couple questions:

1 - where do you store your soiled diapers and inserts until washing?

2 - how often do you wash, or how many end up getting washed at a time?

3 - can you buy extra inserts for the pocket diapers? I'm sure that's a dumb question, but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

4 - what does an AIO look like?  I'm assuming what I have (Bum Genius, Happy Heiney's) are called pocket diapers, right?

Thanks!!

    I have a couple questions:

1 - where do you store your soiled diapers and inserts until washing? I have a sterlite step trash can with a lid from target with a planetwise pail liner.  simple, easy and no stink. :)

2 - how often do you wash, or how many end up getting washed at a time?  How often you wash depends on how many you go through a day and how many you have.  I'm selling half my stash since they are BG's and they don't work for us so i wash every day and a half now.  Usually i like to have enough to last me 3 days.

3 - can you buy extra inserts for the pocket diapers? I'm sure that's a dumb question, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. yes you can.  :)

4 - what does an AIO look like?  I'm assuming what I have (Bum Genius, Happy Heiney's) are called pocket diapers, right? some AIO's have the insert sewn in so its pretty much a pocket diaper with a sewn in insert.  BG has AIOS which have the insert sewn in and a pocket for stuffing.  Those are sized.

    Thanks!!

  • 1. Plastic fliptop lid garbage can with a pillowcase for a liner

    2. I wash every other day. It's probably about a dozen diapers

    3. Sure. A lot of the CD websites should have inserts sold separately, or you can even try Amazon.

    4. I have 2 AIOs. One has a couple of layers of material (looks like a couple of inserts) sewn directly into the inside of the diaper. The other looks like a pocket diaper but seems to be thicker in the middle, and obviously has no pocket. Yes, the ones you have are called pockets. They dry much faster.
