Start lovenox while TTC?

Has anyone started lovenox injections while TTC?

I'm getting conflicting opinions from the hematologist and my OB. Hematologist says start it while trying so nothing happens during the 2WW. OB says this is not necessary, just start it when I get a BFP.

I'm inclined to just start after a BFP. It seems like that is the norm for most people and who knows how long we will be TTC!

After my 2nd m/c (both early losses) my RE had me start heparin injections 3 days after my LH surge (ovulation). I also started on progesterone supps. at that time. If I had not gotten a BFP I would have stopped until my next 2WW.

But I did get a BFP so I continued them! We'll never know for sure what really made a difference. And I could still have another loss, but I was willing to do just about anything to prevent another m/c!

Thanks! Were you on the heparin w/ your first loss? Just started later?

I will be taking it when DH and I TTC baby #2. When it comes to blood thinners and anticoagulation, I would listen to the hemotologist over the OB.

We are trying to decide the same thing as well. With DD, I started at 5W2D and had planned on doing the same with the next. I had a miscarriage in June and it was brought up at my doctors appointment that if I have another, they will want me to begin Lovenox the next cycle.

I started the day of embryo transfer b/c my RE thought it ***may*** (clotting) be affecting my implantation and early growth.

Yes, I was on it (actually lovenox then) for the first loss starting at about 5 weeks that loss was at 5 1/2 wks. Then I started on lovenox again before the 2nd loss as soon as I got a BFP--since I already had the Rx at home!

For a couple of my pregnancies I was on lovenox prior to getting pregnant in hopes to prevent an early m/c and unfortunately I still had m/c's. This most recent pregnancy I was not on anything and once I got a bfp I started my lovenox that day. For me I was stressed while on blood thinners because I was still having m/c's and once I was off of them I found myseld more relaxed.

With my 4th and 5th pregnancies (both m/c), I started at BFP (around 3 and half weeks). Moved to a new RE and she will have me start at 6 weeks, because she said the Lovenox can interfere with proper implantation. Different doctors say different things.

We are TTC and I had the same advice. So I had the OB call the hemotologist and after knowing that I wish to wait they decide that as soon as I get a positive pg test I will got right to OB who will confirm and then I will start Lovenox that same day ( I still have some left from pg since I had to take it until my hormones were normal which wasn't for about 6 months after I stopped bfing at 1 year). They also suggested that if I have problems or a miscarriage to start while TTC the other months.
