i have the most horrific bruise from my glucose blood draw.

    Yeah, I looked pretty "Trainspotting" myself after my 3-hour. Extra bonus that it was short-sleeve weather!

    Did they have trouble finding your vein, or does everyone bruise?  I have my GD test tomorrow, and I really would be content without a bruise.

    Just wait - if you fail your 1 hour you can get the 3 hour tests just in time for halloween - I came out of mine last week looking 'tres heroin chic'!

    Do you usually bruise when blood is drawn or did you just have a particularly sucky nurse this time? Eiher way, that sucks.

    I didn't bruise at all but you could kind of see where they poked me if you were looking closely.

    it was the one hour, and my veins 'roll' so she had some serious trouble. it HURT

    I had a lot of bruising from my 1 hour, but not my 3 hour.

    I had to do a 5 hour one once (not while pregnant) and was embarrassed to go back to work because of all the nasty bruises. The woman at the lab was brutal and used needles twice as big as she needed and stuck me in a new spot for each draw. Ugh.

    I got a huge bruise too.  Maybe the heroin-chic look is in for pregnant women.

    I had a huge bruise from my one hour then when I went back for my 3 hour a few days later I got a couple more little ones. When I got home and showed DH the first thing he said was that I looked like a drug addict...nice.
