I was talking to a friend of mine who is expecting and she commented how many rude and inappropriate things people say to pregnant woman. So I'm wondering. What was the worst thing you were told or asked during yous?
people were constantly telling me how huge or big i was. i mean, yea, there is a baby in there ... i'm supposed to be big! i had a customer of mine repeately tell me "i bet you are having twins ... that doctor is wrong. you wouldn't be that big if there was only 1 baby in there."
my worst was a guy at the grocery store. He informed me that his wife's chest got HUGE during pregnancy, that it was the only thing that made the "hell of pregnancy" worth it to him and that my husband must be disappointed that mine weren't. Or, maybe, they were and i was just really small to start with?
It's really not shocking but it pissed me off. My SIL repeatedly (every time I saw her) said, "YOU'RE HUGE! Are you sure it's not twins?" Every single time. Even though my belly always measured exactly on track and she got way bigger with her pregnancies. I wanted to punch her, esp. in the end when I felt like a fat slob already.
Okay, this isn't pregnancy related, but it was RUDE.
At DD's first Dr. appt. for weight check and whatnot, she was NOT a happy camper, and the receptionist at the pedi's off said to me, "If she's not happy now, just wait until she gets her shots."
Like...okay? Thanks for the thoughtfulness. Not so much.
Oh I could go on and on. It was mainly people from work who are not close to me. I was told many times that I was huge and was surely having twins. I was told I waddled. I was told my legs were getting fat (and this was early on in the pregnancy). Oh and one woman actually asked me how much weight I had gained. Oh how I wanted to hit them all. **sorry, I know I am jumping over early but I am bored!
My MIL called me and said "I am going to need you to start keeping a food journal, and e-mail it to me once a week, so I can make sure you are eating the right things for MY grandson."

I'm glad I made the top five. I don't usually post things, but the topic was perfect. I live just outside of McCall in Donnelly. And you? I hope you don't know my MIL!
During the last tri my boss thought it was funny to ask if I was sure I would make it to October. We always picked on each other but the pregnant stuff should have been off limits!

" why in the world would you want a boy" - we were team green.....
......and to take the cake.....
"oh honey you need to diet a little because you have gotton much too fat..."
i should also mention this was the same person as the above comment, and i was also on modified bed rest for super high blood pressure at the time....very nice.
Since we are having 2 under 1..we gotten TONS of crap. the main was is "you DO know how this happens, right?!"
"your getting MUCH bigger with this pregnancy then you did the first time". (i gained 30lbs....so I weighed 135 when I gave birth...apparently thats morbidly obese to many ppl)
"maybe this time around you will use birth control the right way"
"were you following instructions on your birth control"
We were team green and my mom said "oh you're definitely having a girl, you're carrying that baby in your butt." Really mom? I thought the baby was in my UTERUS! argh.
HR - "You will be terminated on delivery." Boss - saying that it was maybe said wrong but then basically saying the same thing and reassuring me that there was no guarantee my job would be there when I wanted to come back. It was but now I am fortunately no longer with that firm.
I had very bad skin during pregnancy and one of the supply teachers at my school said, and I quote "What happened to your face? You used to be beautiful."

I told all my co-workers that I was pregnant around 11 weeks and one of them said to me, "I thought you were getting a belly".. I wasn't showing at all yet.. thanks..
Almost daily since about 6 months, my manager would tell me how much my belly had dropped and that I was going to be put on bed rest because it was dropping so soon.. I wanted to shove a stapler down her throat.. I had no complications with my pregnancy and never needed bedrest, but I bet she wasn't overly surprised when I delivered almost a month early.
I also hated the, "are you sure it's not twins?!" wtf is wrong with people that they NEED to say this?! I gained 18 lbs my whole pregnancy and only gained in my belly so I didn't get very big.. seriously people.
I know I'm late responding and no one will read this, but I still get ticked thinking about this topic. I had the checkout woman at Walmart ask, "How much weight have you gained? You're pretty big?" This was a complete stranger, but I was caught off guard so I answered, "I've only gained about 12 lbs and my doctor said I'm right on track." Checkout lady, "Yeah, I guess that's okay then." Really? So glad I have your approval on my apparently absurd weight gain! Jeez.. Didn't know you had to go to med school to work a checkout counter!
oh ya, and a friend of a friend cupped by breasts and said - "yep, definatey starting to get milk in "(i was 20 weeks or so). But I was already a DD-she probably just wanted an excuse to feel me up...

I nearly hit him

My H's aunt said, "As I was walking over I was wondering who that fat lady was."
Nice...
hahaha I'm sorry, that one is top five easy.
on a different note, are you actually in McCall?
I was ... 5 mo pregnant at Target looking for a bathing suit, barely showing I thought (still in pre-preg clothes)
Lady came up and said she loved going to the beach with pregnant women cause she looked even skinnier since we look like beached whales.
I Wore shorts and a Tshirt to the beach that day with our out of town company

I got a whole lot of "Are you crazy?" and "Was this planned" which INFURIATED me.
Yes it as my 4th baby, yes it was very much planned. And If i wanted to have 20 children ala Duggar style thats MY business and no one elses.
After I had him I still got "Are you done now I hope"
Makes me want to stab people.
