Can someone give me a quick rundown on the diet? (See my previous post for more information). Since I passed the 3 hour - I didn't receive diabetic counseling. I had GD with my son, but I can't remember the diet exactly. Thanks for any help.

Re: Rundown on the GD diet?
It varies. For me, I am allowed the following:
21 g (1.5 carbs) for breakfast
15 g (1 carb) morning snack
45 g (3 carbs) lunch
21 g (1.5 carbs) snack
45 g (3 carbs) dinner
30 g (2 carbs) evening snack
No fruit juice at all; no fruit until lunch or afternoon -- none in the morning.
Pre-e w/DD #1 -- now age four! GD and PIH w/DD#2 -- now age two! GD and unexplained third trimester bleeding with baby # 3 -- due Feb 27!
*This is the same for me. But I had to decrease to 1 carb serving with breakfast and increase my morning snack - my sugars weren't cooperating. This site was helpful too. https://www.diabeticmommy.com/34-gestational-diabetes-diet.html
I also was on Weight Watchers for about 4 yrs prior to getting preggers, so I asked my nutritionist if that pattern of eating (I laid out for her what my typical day of food was before) was ok - but increasing calories instead of only diet foods. She told me that would be perfect b/c I'd be getting fruits, veggies, dairy & high fiber which is key to keeping the sugar levels in control. But, that was my nutrionists recommendation for me. I don't want to get flamed for suggestion anything that might not work for you.
