Sibling Halloween costume ideas?

It seems it's that time of year already! WDYT of matching sib costumes? Cheesy? Cute? I'm thinking it's the last year I'd be able to do something fun with the kids before DS insists on one thing or another. And do you have any suggestions? I'm drawing a blank and the only silly thing I can think of is a firefighter and hydrant, but I don't want poor DD to be dressed in something like that. LOL.

I do have a cat costume DS wore his first Halloween that might fit DD since she is bigger than he was. But I'd have to pull it out and see.

  • We did the cat thing last year and it was a hit!

  • The boys will be going as Darth Vader and Yoda this year.  Last year, one was a cop and the other was a robber.

You could do Woody and Jessie from Toy Story.  Barbie and Ken.  Dorothy and the tin man.  Beauty and the beast.  Football player and cheerleader.

That's all I got right now!

I have a big bro/little sis pair, too. We're either doing a gnome and a fairy or a baker and a cupcake. :)

I love the baker/cupcake idea! So cute!

DH wants DD to be a strawberry for her first Halloween. Anybody got any ideas on what DS could be that would sort of "go" with a strawberry?? If I can't think of anything we might just go with the baker/cupcake thing!

  • My 2yo informed me she wanted to be a scarecrow. So, she will be that...and the baby will be a crow.

  • I definitely want to do matching but each of them will match one of us (all the parents in my neighborhood get dressed up). I'm planning on being Dora and R can be Diego. Then B will be a monkey and I've been dying to get DH a Man With the Yellow Hat costume!

Plan B- If we decide not to dress up, I'd most likely do Woody and Buzz Lightyear for the boys :)

  • We've done football player/cheerleader and fireman/dalmation dog (this was my fave, very cute).

I think fisherman or chef and lobster would be cute.

I want to do zoo keeper/lion/monkey with my 3 this year, still trying to talk DS into being the zoo keeper though.

  • Thanks for the great ideas! I love the cupcake one, but I wonder if I can convince DS to be a baker. I'm not sure he even knows what that is considering I'm not very big in the kitchen. LOL! :)

  • DD1 has a witch costume for dress-up that I'm gonna put her in, and DD2 will be wearing the black cat costume DD1 wore for her first Halloween.

I have a witch costume that I wore for DD1's first Halloween, so I told DH that he was gonna have to be a cat, complete with ears, tail, and whiskers.  He was not amused.

  • I saw a great combo last year:

Little baby sister was a flower and older brother was a gardener. It was super cute - he was all decked out in toddler-sized gardener equipment and had a bucket for collecting loot. She was in a velour flower costume I've seen on line, can't remember where - had petals around the face and her body was the stem.

  • My sister has three kids (2 boys and a girl) and they very often go in coordinating costumes.  One year they were the kids from the Incredibles.  This year they are going to be Buzz, Woody, and Jessie from Toy Story.  I think it is cute!

We originally wanted to do Strawberry as well!  But it sold out of her size VERY quickly apparently!  We were going to do Banana for our son.

Now we are desperately trying to find someone to make Team Umizoomi costumes for us, other ideas are Firefighter and a dalmation or Mario and Princess Peach.

  • Last year DD was Pebbles and BFF's little boy was Bam Bam.  It was adorable and the costumes were pretty easy!
Expecting our 3rd little girl this New Year's!

  • DD1 is going to be The Cat in the Hat and DD2 is going to be a goldfish. DH and I are going to be Thing One and Thing Two. I can't wait!!!

You could always do a firefighter and a dalmation!!!
