uti?

After getting a message from the nurse to call her back and waiting for 6 minutes ( I looked at the phone) on hold before anyone ever picked up my call, the nurse lets me know that everything they look those 4 viles of blood for looked good. BUT that my urine sample showed an UTI. I don't think I have any symptoms of one or if I do I didn't realise it. She is calling me in some meds to take care of it and told me to drink lots of water, I thought I was drinking a lot. Has anyone else had a UTI and not know it?

UGH! Everytime I hit post, my computer says it isn't connected to the internet. This is driving me crazy!

Re: uti?

  • Yup - I've had UTI's where I've been very aware and I've had moments where the doctor informs me my urine sample shows a UTI and I had no idea.

  • Yeah. The same thing happened to me last week. I had no idea that anything was going on down there. Weird! But, my doc called in some meds. A horrid regimine of 4 pills at 4 diferent times per day/and they have to be taken around the times that you eat. It has been a pain in the butt. Thankfully, I only have one more day. Good luck.

  • Yes, I just had one like that.  Well, the nurse's words were "staph in your urine".  I guess I don't know if that's the same thing or not but I had no idea, whatever it was.  She put me on some abx.

  • Hi girls! UTIs during pregnancy often do not show the same symptoms as when when you are not PG. And actually, many are symptom free...or the symptoms you do have are confused with PG symptoms!

SO no, it is not uncommon for you to develop a UTI without knowing it.

My midwife clinic actually does a routine urine sample about halfway through to make sure you aren't harbouring bladder/urinary tract infections.
