I wouldn't...I don't get tipping a babysitter. I mean, maybe if she's from a nanny service and doesn't get to keep all the money or something, but she keeps all the money, I don't see the point.
ETA: okay, I just thought about it some more and I do inadvertently tip our sitters. I just always round up. Like if we're gone 2.5 hours and she charges $15/hr, I go ahead and give her $45 instead of $37.50 (mostly that's because I'm bad at math).
I don't necessarily tip, but with our babysitter I did round up. She charged $12/hour, but I would typically just give her $50 instead of $48 or similar depending on how long she was there. One night we went from needing her for 4 hours to only 2 hours, very last minute, so I paid her for almost 3 hours. I don't consider that "tipping". And I think $18/hour is a pretty nice amount of money for babysitting!
$18/hour?? Wow! That's a lot. Anyway, like everyone else said, I don't tip the babysitter, though I would round up sometimes just to not have to deal with making change and such. Also, all through grad school I babysat (this was 4-5 years ago) but even as an adult babysitter I was never tipped.
