Those of you with multiple mc

We have had three losses with no successful pregnancy (YET!)  But my doctor not only told me to take it easy, not lift anything etc......but also no sex till after the first trimester.  Don't get me wrong I will do anything to make this fourth baby a keeper, but everything i read says that sex cannot cause miscarriage.  Did anyone else's doctor recommend this?  Or is she just being super cautious?  Just curious.

    I'm on "pelvic rest" until the end of the first tri.  This includes no sex, lifting etc.  I guess it's to not aggravate the ute?

    yup.  I was told pelvic rest as well.  My doc said an orgasm can cause uterine contractions.  Usually doesn't cause a miscarriage but with a history of losses it's to be avoided. GL!

    Well, I just got my bfp yesterday and I haven't spoken to my doc about it yet but, I've self inflicted a sex-free couple of days until we see what happens with my blood work and everything.  At which time I'll also ask about it.  Better safe than sorry.

    I've only had one m/c but my MW put me on pelvic rest for 4-6 weeks when I told her I was pg again.  No sex, no heavy lifting.  She said it's because a chemical in semen can cause the cervix to "ripen."  Also, yes, I've read that orgasms can cause the uterus to contract.

    It's been a little over a week now and we are both suffering (although DH does get some fun in other ways).  But it's worth it!
