Someone on the TTGP suggested I look at this board as well, so here is what I posted:
Well, my DH & I have been TTC since Oct 2008 and now we are finally going to start getting the fertility tests, so I figured that some support would do me good since it has been an emotional roller coaster. I am 28 and DH is almost 31. Me and my OB/GYN are pretty sure that I am ovulating because my periods are very regular and the OPKs seem to be working. So, I am scheduled for an ultrasound and am going to have an HSG test after AF and my DH is going to get a SA. I am kind of freaked out by all the tests that we have to do, but I know that it will all be worth it in the end. Hopefully AF doesn?t come and none of the tests have to happen.
I also mentioned that the temperature tracking didn't work out so well for me because my temperatures were all over the place due to the wide variation of when I wake up in the morning.
Re: Just Joining

The HSG wasn't that bad for me, but that varies from person to person. It will be worth having all tests done though and then figuring out a plan. I would definitely suggest seeing an RE if you're not doing that already.

Ams8009 - charting doesn?t work for me because I get up at different times every day. It?s not shifts, but more like some days I have early meetings and go to work early, and sometimes, I sleep in. I like my sleep too much. After thinking about though, I am going to chart again.
illinigirl ? We have the same anniversary and have been TTC for the same amount of time too!
Liz, I have a varying schedule like you but I have my alarm set for 6 am every day so that I can temp. If I have to get up, I go ahead and do that at 6. If I get to sleep in, I just take my temp and let the thermometer store it and go right back to sleep.
The 2-3 minutes it takes to temp in the morning doesn't disturb my sleep. Sometimes I don't even remember taking my temp because I am still half asleep while doing it.
Good luck!
ETA: In your situation, even though you have somewhat regular cycles, it's important to be able to see the thermal shift so you can determine when you ovulated. You could be ovulating later in your cycle and missing the window of peak fertility because you aren't charting your temps. OPKs don't always work for women with PCOS either, but it doesn't hurt to continue to use them and enter the data with your BBT chart.
I always wake up at different times each day and I was still able to chart. I just set my alarm for an hour before the earliest time I ever needed to wake up and temped at that time. I would just go right back to sleep after temping. It was pretty easy.
Good luck with all the testing.
