The new RE we went to see thinks I probably have PCOS. My current RE said I don't display some of the classic symptoms so he never tested me for it. The new RE disagrees and said I actually display many of the symptoms and I probably have the "lean" form of PCOS - whatever that means. He also recommended I have my sister checked because she is having some of the same issues. The new RE recommended I talk to a dietician and eat a diet thats better for PCOS so that's my next step. He doesn't think the diet alone with get me KU because of DH's sperm issues/endo, but he said it can't hurt. The new RE also agreed with my current RE that moving on with IVF next summer is probably our best chance. He also wanted us to have immunological testing and blood clot/disorder testing done before our IVF. I just had a ton (11 vials) of blood taken for hormone levels, blood sugars and for clotting disorders because of my family history (aunt had 11 miscarriages and sister has a blood disorder). I'm a little overwhelmed right now.
Anybody have any good books or links for PCOS?
Re: We got our second opinion
I don't know of any books, but here us a great site:
SoulCysters.com: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) Treatment & Resources
And a few others
PCOS Diet, Exercise, Weight Loss (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)
What is PCOS? (PCOSbio)

I hope you don't mind me stepping in. Ditto pp. My OB/GYN that I had when we first started trying said that with PCOS "its not a matter of if you get pg, but when." That advice has stuck in my head since way back when.
The online support is great, soulcysters (mentioned in pp).
I also was on a medication called metformin. It helps with the PCOS and I was on it for my entire 1st trimester. It can help prevent m/c with PCOS. Something to look into. I'm back on it again.
What your dr was saying about "thin" pcos, is someone with a thin body type. Most have troubles with weight and are heavier girls.
