I only have 2 onsies, 1 outfit and 3 sleepers.
Most of the clothes I have are 0-3 months or 3-6 months. I have a few things in the 6-9 category and a few 12 month items as well.
I don't want to buy too many newborn things because I am afraid this will be a large 8-10 pound baby and they will be waisted as we will go straight to 0-3 months. But I also don't want to have to run out and buy stuff at the last minute if he turns out to be small.
Re: How many newborn sized items do you have?
Well I have like 4 sleepers, a going home outfit (if it fits), and a couple onsies with matching pants. This is my first so I am not sure what to expect. So far (which means nothing), she is measuring right on track....but we will see.
I guess if she outgrows/never uses them then I will just give the clothes to the other women I know who are expecting girls.

I've had 1 shower and have 2 more coming up. I got 1 onsie and 1 outfit in NB, the rest was all 0-3 or 3-6.
I do have one of those gown things, but it says 0-3 on it. I think I will pick up a few of those and leave them in the packaging just in case.
This exactly.
A bunch. DD#1 was 6lbs. 10oz. and wore preemie for a bit, then NB until about 3 months so we have a bunch from her. DD#2 is estimated to be around the same size, so I've bought some more winter appropriate NB things for her (DD1 was born in May so a lot of her NB stuff is summerish).
