what is the meaning of Family?

in 1st Trimester
Before my mom died my family was much closer.. aunts cousins grandparents.. Since she has died. I have moved to another state and have been here a few years and they keep giving me excuses as to why they cant visit.. work money blah blah but get upset when we say we are tired of being the only ones that make an effort to come visit. Now that we are pregnant they expect us to come down as soon as the baby is born... NOT happening then they get pis*y when i say no.. grrr...I just do not understand people...... had to vent

    Sheesh, you'd think they'd make an effort once you gave birth! Especially if you're due around flu season and can't take the baby out. Sorry you're having to deal with their selfishness. Will they at least come to your shower, if you're having one?

    no it is inconvenient for them to take off of work.. my aunt hasnt even called to congratulate me on being pregnant and she knew at 5 weeks

    I was going to suggest that but didn't want to sound rude. I would just be happy in my pregnancy and leave them out of it, since they don't want any part of it anyway. This is your time, enjoy it!
