The big day is on Sept. 19, so just under 6 weeks. So far the only think we have done is make the arrangements at the church and decide on the venue (our home). I don't know what to have to eat, decorations, thank yous, etc. I have zero creativity. I'm just lost. I usually look to my mom and sister for advise, but they are shooting down all of my ideas and it's starting to bum me out. I decided that I no longer want their help and am not telling them anything anymore. So now I'm stuck. I need ideas please. What would you/did you have for food, decorations, etc. I also don't have a whole lot of money. TIA
Re: I need help (baptism)
We ordered some sandwich platters and served all fingerfoods (veggies and dip, fruit and dip, cheese and crackers, chips, cupcakes etc.) I did not have any decorations (unless napkins with crosses on them count).
We had it catered with mexican food. Shirmp fajitas, Chicken Fajitas, Rice, Beans, chips and salsa. We then made lemon cupcakes w/ cream cheese frosting. This is commom in my family though.
We did a low key one at the park and didn't really use centerpieces. If anything, I would just throw some nice summer flowers in a short vase and call it a day.
We had a sliced meat tray, cheese tray, rolls, salad, pasta salad, cake, cookies, lemonade and iced tea.
The only decoration was a DIY banner I made.
We kept it simple and it was great!
We're having a caterer (very reasonable) deliver food - chicken, penne vodka, sausage and peppers, roasted veggies, salad, etc. Cake from a local bakery and my MIL is making a few cookie platters.
I'm keeping the decorations to a minimum - balloons, centerpieces that my sister made for my baby shower will be re-used (blue and white).
To save on paper products we're getting solid color plates instead of printed, using clear cups and just getting printed napkins.
