Airline Travel with Carseat

So this will be the first time flying with LO that I have to bring the carseat.  And I will be traveling solo.  I was looking at the Go Go Kidz thing, but not sure if it's worth it.  I had just been carrying DS in the baby bjorn, and am thinking that is probably the easiest and just checking the carseat at the check in.  Anyone have experience with the Go Go Kidz or do something else?  Thanks!

    I don't have any experience with the Go Go Kidz thing.  But I do have experience traveling.  My DS has been on three trips so far.

    If you payed for an extra seat you have to take the car seat on the plane. if you didn't pay for an extra seat and have to hold the DC than I would suggest checking the seat with the rest of your bags and use a stroller to carry baby or carry on items while wearing DC in a sling or bjorn. 

    If you didn't buy an extra seat I would as to see if the plane is full and if not than ask for an extra seat for the car seat. 

    It was so much easied for DS to be in his car seat.  He sleeps so much better in there than my arms as he as gotten old plus it gives me the ability to move around more.

    No experience with the Go Go Kidz, but I am interested to hear if anyone has used it.  I have been wondering how it really works. 

    When we have flown with LO, we sometimes check the car seat and sometimes bring it on the plane.  We have never purchased a ticket for LO, but I'll check the day before our flight, and if the plane looks kind of empty, then we'll take the car seat with us to the gate and ask if there is an extra seat for it (if they say no, they'll just gate check the car seat).  If the plane looks totally packed, we just check the car seat with our luggage. 

    I've always traveled with DH though, and he has installed the car seat in the plane while I've been holding LO.  I think if I was travelling alone, I might just check the car seat and hold LO, or bring a wrap or carrier so I could wear her.
