  • Simon sits in a shopping cart, with cover. We started around 5 months.

so pretty much use your own judgement i guess? Sebastian has AMAZING head/neck control and can *sometimes* sit by himself unassisted. too early? he HATES his carseat - i think he would be much happier in the cart.

  • You can prop pillows in there to help him out for a while. Simon sits unsupported, but at first he was a tiny bit floppy.

  • Freya has good head/neck control but she can't sit on her own.  For her, it's not an age, but when she is ready.  Right now I pop her in the Bjorn carrier which she seems to love.

  • We tried it the other day because I knew that I needed the larger part of the cart for a bigger item but she was still a little floppy.  She has excellent head and neck control but can't sit up unassisted yet.  I couldn't get the straps tight enough to keep her from falling over so I guess she needs to work on sitting up some more before we try again.

  • we started putting Jack in sometimes when he was 3 months old because he was already sitting. But we got the leacho cart cover that has the pillows on the sides, if he gets a little tired he just leans over and uses one to relax on.
