We are just inviting family and close friends (20-30 people) to DS's 1st birthday party. Should I do invites? For my step-son's parties and other kids in the family, no one has ever given us an invite. They just call us or email us and let us know when the party is. The only time we did invites is when the older boys want to invite school friends. Is anyone else not mailing out invites?
I think I will be laughed at if I send them out. Everyone already thinks I over-do everything.
Re: Anyone not having invites?
Our extended family is the same way - the only thing we expect paper invitations for is weddings (and sometimes people just do email invites for those, too!).
Anyways, we did an email invitation. To make it a little special, I made an invitation on my computer, and sent it as an attachment on the email. This also gives me something to print out as a keepsake and put in the baby book.
