Honestly? It's quite the name... but if you have quite the kid it can totally work. I had friends who named their little guy Shaughnessy. Again, quite the name, but it fits him perfectly!
So, have you ever heard the song "Moses" by Coldplay? Chris Martin wrote it for Gwyneth Paltrow. One of the lines is "Just like Moses/ Had power over the sea/ So you've got/ A power over me." That's like, painfully beautiful. So they named their kid Moses. Seriously, that makes my heart melt.

I knew a Moses in High school. He was the sweetest guy! when I think of names I think of ppl that I know with that name-it either turns me away or makes me love it. ...listen to others opinions, but stick to what YOU love
Super religious. If that doesn't bother you, then use it! It's pretty! Obviously you would hope that your child would share your religious views as an adult, but if not it would be potentially problematic.
I think it's a cute name, it's hard to find a biblical name that's not way overused. You hear Joshua, John, Isaac, Isaiah, Caleb... (to name a few) way too often. But I don't know any baby Moses' and if you and your husband like it, go for it :-)
Thanks ladies! I've never known a Moses IRL. My husband really likes the name and it is growing on me, but I don't want to give my child a name that will cause people to make fun of him.
I'm more of a spiritual person than I am a religious person. However, I was raised Catholic and this name does remind me of the bible.
But, as always, it's totally up to you. I do like that it's not the "typical boy name".
I will also say, that I have a friend Angel who hates her name. Most people assume she's religious due to her name. She isn't so it bothers her. I guess just something to think about in case he doesn't follow your religious outlook as an adult.
Not bad but there are other religious names we like better. Right now we like Isaac, Ethan or David for a boy. Moses just sounds too old manish like Abraham.
Some old guy with a beard holding a staff in one hand...lol. Sorry, but that really is my first thought. Mose is a very similar name, kinda Amish sounding but maybe not as 'biblical' sounding. No matter what anyone else says, it's what you and DH (mostly YOU, though ) think about a name. I think if you like it you should use it. When your LO is 10 Moses may be on the Top 10 list of baby names and you'll be thinking, 'Dam. I liked that name before anyone else and I didn't go with it!'

We already have a David and a Gabriel.
I also like Paul and am thinking about using it. DHs family has used every single popular Biblical boy name and DH has problems with using ones taht they have used, so we have slim pickins
We have a good family friend with an Ethan and he has a cousin named Matthew. The following names have been used by his family already - Adam, Samuel, Bejamin, Timothy, Thomas, Daniel, James, Andrew, Christopher, Jacob, Joel, Joshua, Nathanael, and Zachariah. Our best friend used Eli.

Hmmmmm, let me think. Noah, Luke, Peter, Caleb, Josiah, Isaiah, Jonathon, Michael, John, Mark, Seth, Stephen, Joseph, Jude.

Well, you would think right

I think of the movie The Ten Commandments when someone (Nefretiti??) is calling out "Moses!! Moses!"
ETA: I like the name very much.

I love these two beautiful children!
To be honest I'm not a big fan. It does sound super religious (which I'm not against) I just think of an old man.
This. Not a fan.
Me too!
I have a couple thoughts.
#1- Moses Hogan...an AWESOME composer/music director. Big plus in my book.
#2- Go down Moses. Awesome spiritual. Another big plus in my book. Aforementioned Moses Hogan arranged a really great version of this song.
So the music nerd in me gives it two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
Me three!

I think we'll add it to our boy name list

I have a strong pink feeling this time, but I also had that with the other pregnancies. My intuition is always 100% wrong
