we've had three massive puking episodes in the last hour - shes now throwing up water.
when do we call the doctor? if it lasts through the night? or now?
No fever or anything, just puking.
(this is our first episode of puke so I have no idea what to do)
Re: vomitting - when do you call the doctor?
I might call just to see what they would recommend you do, since she's still pretty young. Little bodies can get dehydrated pretty fast.
If she can't keep ANYthing down, especially.
So Tasty, So Yummy
We did and took her to urgent care, but they couldn't really do anything because suspected that it was RSV. The main thing is to keep her hydrated with pedialyte.
I call right away.
Get pedialyte from the drug store. They'll probably recommend it. Also, Jello. The problem with puke is the dehydration. Call the doc and see what is recommended.
This year was our first puke experience too. (3 year run, not bad)
thanks yall. I called and spoke to a nurse. At that point, she had puked maybe like 8 times in three hours? Nurse said give pedialyte or gatorade at the rate of a tsp every fifteen minutes or so and see how she tolerates it. She said if the puking continued, they'd call in a prescription for me, but usually, they like to let a stomach virus run it's course.
She went an hour after that without puking (we stopped letting her have water) then had one small episode at 7:30. We've been puke free the past hour, but she's also refusing to drink the pedialyte. She's had maybe a teaspoon the whole hour. I think we're going to try water here in a bit and see if that sticks.
We've done two loads of laundry already and in my pregnancy induced stupidity, instead of putting baking soda down on the carpet, but down baking POWDER. At least our carpets will have a lovely rise.
