Why don't you respond to posts?

in Babies: 9 - 12 Months

It's been mentioned several times that this board is dead.  I really noticed it yesterday when most of the posts had maybe 5 responses.  What's the deal?

Why don't you respond to posts?  Are they not interesting enough for you?  Do you not have any helpful info?  Are you sick of answering the same thing over and over?

    I'm just now coming back to the bump. I quit posting for a while. The drama gets to be too much and takes over the board. I lose interest when that happens.

    I don't usually respond if I don't have any useful tips/advice or anything interesting to say. Also, I do often get tired of answering the same questions over & over. Sometimes, I just enjoy lurking  =P

    Personally, I am sick of answering what finger foods I'm serving 5x a day.  But it seems that even when someone posts something remotely interesting, that doesn't even get much response!

    I also haven't been on as much. We're in the process of buying a house so I've been pretty busy getting things packed, cleaning stuff out, etc. Not much time left to Bump =(

    I respond to posts but then stop when I realize that I posted to a million and am the only one responding. ? I feel like I may look like a PW.
    Me: 30, DOR with a FSH of 12.5
    DH: 31, no issues
    4-6/2012 100mg of Clomid + trigger + IUI/TI = BFN
    7/2012 150mg of Gonal-f + trigger + IUI = BFN

    Most of the time if I open a post and don't respond it's because I don't have anything to contribute. I don't mind answering the same questions if that's the only question I can answer.

    LOL me too me too. When I am bored at work I just start responding and when I realize my name is filling the board or I am starting to answer the same thing for the 6th time I realize I need to leave. Stick out tongue

    If I don't its usually because several people have given the same answer I would. The only posts that usually get a lot of responses are ones that stir up drama and I can not justify getting involved in that kind of stuff, so I don't respond to those either.

    I'm hardly ever on, and when I am on, I feel like I have no clue what's going on, so I will respond to "What do you do" type posts (like finger foods) but that's about it. And all the 1st bday posts annoy the heck out of me.

    I just thought of another major reason I don't respond to posts.  It's a PITA on my Blackberry, so mostly I just lurk.  I'm rarely on my computer and able to respond easily.

    same here, except I'm on my iPhone. the only time I have to actually go on the computer is when DS is napping or in bed for the night. and since he only naps once a day now, I usually use that time for other things. I'll post and run usually. also, like a PP said, I sometimes feel like I'm the only one responding to posts and I don't want to be a PW :-P

    I try to respond to those posts that haven't had any responses yet.

    Especially if there are tons of stupid posts around it getting responses just because they are filled with drama or the person is a well-known PW.

    This is the same for me too pretty much. I do tend to read most posts, but I don't always respond.

    Yay new house! Fun but a PITA. I look at new listings in my area every day, but its not going to happen for a few more years. I can't wait to get out of apartment living.

     Regardless,  I either have nothing that will help, the post is ridiculous and they are just whining a lot, or it's already been said.

    This. And I'm sick of telling everyone why I bought the type of convertible car seat I did, or his nap/feeding schedule. And there was a post a while back about how everyone hates it when people respond to a post saying that they don't have any input. So if I don't have anything to say, I don't post anything.
