Given that Scout stopped sleeping in her crate two months ago, we decided to just put a big, fluffy pillow that she loves next to our bed and accept that we failed at night-time crate training.
And honestly, I'm thrilled as I can finally say good-bye to the hideous, huge crate in my room.
She hasn't been crated when we leave the house for months now either, and we've had no problems, so we are embracing the crate-free lifestyle.
She was so excited to see that thing come down, it was a little scary. She brought her duck over to where it was and was happily chewing on it and rolling on the carpet she's never seen before.
The era of oppression is over. Vive la Doodle!
Re: Doodle AW: Scout is graduating to a big girl bed!
Awww, The Doodle is growing up!
Yay for no kennels in the room. I hated having Sadie's in ours.
We did crate training for the first year - I hated that thing in our room! We still have it up in one of our guest bedrooms and she hides in there during storms or fireworks.
Congrats, Scout!
Now don't mess this up by eating your dad's remaining shoelace!
Now see, my mom's dogs are seven, and they LOVE their crates. Cosmo naps in his, and hides there during storms.
Scout is just a wild woman.
We only have 1 crate and we have 2 dogs. We didn't buy another one when we got Jake because Ruger had been living the crate-free lifestyle for quite a while. I don't think Jake minds the crate, but I feel better that he's able to stay out because I don't think it's fair for him to be in the crate and Ruger to be free to do whatever while we're at work!
