She is still pregnant. Doctor's plan today is getting an ultrasound and staving off infection. That's the biggest thing right now - NO INFECTIONS. And if she remains stable through the weekend, they'll maybe move her upstairs. Right now she's still in a L&D room.
She had a scare at 2am this morning - thought she was leaking fluid. Turned out not to be anything though. But like she said on her FB message - 2am scares are better in the hospital.
I talked with her a bunch last night, and I can happily say she sounds more like her normal self. Tuesday and Wednesday she was pumped up so full of different meds, she was just out of it. She doesn't remember talking to me a few times, lol.
She did get a more clear idea of what actually happened on Tuesday. When she got to UAB, the doctors told her she was fully dilated and really expected her to deliver that afternoon. They only had one incubator in her room, not two (the second was in the hallway?). This is because their plan was if Baby A's water broke and was born, they would have taken her and whisked her away to NICU. But then they would have clamped off the umbilical cord and put it back inside (funny side note: Clayli told me in her medicated mind, she thought the doctors told her if she delivered Baby A they would put the BABY back inside) and then they would have done a cerclage and tried to keep Baby B inside for as long as possible.
Later in the day, it was determined she was 5 cm dilated (as opposed to the 3cm). Yesterday, she was 2-3 cm. I believe they are hoping to put the pessary back in or do a cerclage now. Not sure which way they'll go, but one of the reasons a cerclage wasn't done before was because of the risk of infection. She's been pumped so full of antibiotics now, and she's in the hospital being monitored, the risk is lesser now with the cerclage. But I don't know which will be done or when. She's hoping for at least the pessary being put back in, and then hopes that that allowed her to not be upside down constantly. Maybe get bathroom privileges.... She says peeing in a bedpan SUCKS. We won't even talk about pooping.
I will say, I think someone was watching out for Clayli on Tuesday. UAB will resuscitate babies born as early as 23 weeks. Her local Huntsville hospital will not until 24 weeks. So, when she was bleeding on Tuesday and found out her local OB was unavailable and there was only an NP, she was VERY fortunate to have called the UAB doctors and was advised to drive the two hours to Birmingham.
Last night Clayli was in good spirits. She and I had one of our normal chats, and I can't describe how happy it made me that she sounded so good. For those of you who've never talked to her on the phone - she's got the cutest Southern accent. And it really comes out when she talks with the nurses.
They are hoping to stop one of the meds she's on and get her on Procardia. Her DH is giving her the progesterone shots that she's actually been on since even before bedrest. She had all of three contractions yesterday, and they weren't painful, just BH and defined as irritable uterine spasms. So, they had taken her off the mag for now. (hence why she feels so much better)
And, while I was typing this, she just texted me to say she already had her ultrasound. Baby A weighs in at 1lbs 2oz and Baby B 1lbs 4oz!
So, now for the PIP. I wouldn't call it a BPF, since you can't even see her bump, lol, but here's Clayli in the tredelenberg position:

ETA: She's 23 weeks and 4 days today!
