My child refuses to wear clothing

My DD was recently potty trained and it was the first time we let her run around all the time without cloths on at home.

Now this week is beautiful weather for trips to the park everyday but DD will not get dressed and says "No" to the park.

She did get dressed long enough for a walk yesterday evening but as soon as she walked back in the house...off came the dress and panties.

Should we just force the cloths on her?  What do you do when she takes them off again?  Do other kids refuse to go fun places because they don't want to get dressed?

Re: My child refuses to wear clothing

  • My guess is she got used to not wearing clothes because you let her do it for a while. Maybe she feels more comfortable that way.
However-- I can see how this is becoming an issue.
My son is that way with his shoes. Doesn't want to put them on, and gets mad when we have to. Why? Because we don't allow shoes in the house anymore. He has grown accustom to it.

I wish I had some advice for you, but I don't. We just tell Q he can't go outside until he puts his shoes on. He fights us for a bit, and then allows us to put them on him.
