I am having a hard time with a set number of shoes for school.
What are you doing?
I am thinking, black and brown flats, boots, uggs, casual sneaker and then a pair of Nike or Adidas. I keep seeing all the cute ballet flats in different colors and I know she needs them too.
Re: How many pair of shoes do you plan on buying for school?
Is this a school she's gone to before or a new one? I only ask because DS's preschool has some guidelines on shoes, just because they want them to be safe on the playground equipment etc. I know sandals and other dressier type shoes are not allowed at his school.
She has been there. Tuesday is gym class, so she needs a sneaker or rubber soled shoe. They have a no flip flop or croc policy.
I'm getting Jackson's packet of guidelines later this week. Right now, for fall, he has his Hunter boots (w/ welly socks for winter), 3 pairs of Chucks, a pair of velcro Pumas and a pair of Adidas running shoes.
If he has to have velcro shoes (which I could see), I'll probably get him a pair of velcro chucks and running shoes. Boys are a lot easier, though.
You just wait until Scarlett goes to school. I am dying at the shoes at Crazy8 right now. Like these
DD has dress shoes that I don't let he wear to school.... and so she has cheaper (Payless) dress shoes for school. Because she tends to scuff up her shoes at school.... which is why I like having 2 pairs. Her dress shoes that aren't for school are for church and other events.
She also has a pair of sneakers for gym days (New Balance), and 2 pairs of "fashion sneakers" (Skechers and Converse All Stars) that I really don't like for gym so she wears those on off days.
fashion is secondary to being able to play on the playground and have fun at school (I save fashion for church/weekend/special occasions.)
My girls both have 3 pair. A pair of Nike's and a pair of fun converse and for special school things like programs they have a pair of brown mary janes.
Mitch has a pair of black converse and a pair of Nike's.
That's it.
DD has an embarrassing amount of shoes, especially in comparison to DS. She has plain white tennis shoes, dark brown leather boots, black and tan ugg boots, converse in a multitude of colors, and brown and navy blue mary janes. She wears all those to school and everywhere else. Nothing we buy is school specific.
DS is going to start preschool soon, and he has navy blue/white dressy tennis shoes, and dressy brown tennis shoes, and black converse. And those will go with basically everything in his wardrobe. He's so much easier.
Sneakers and snow boots. She already has rain boots and sandals.
omg that list is so funny to me. I am just not into stuff like that. That said I have a boy and he'll have 2 pairs.
When Sara goes to school she'd probably have sneakers, boots and regular shoes. So 3.
Ds generally has one pair of sneakers plus one other pair of random shoes at any given time (sandals right now.) He'll also need a new pair of snow boots later this fall.
DS has 2 pairs of shoes for school. boots and sneakers. really nothing else is needed.
so I would say she needs a sneaker and then boots for winter. MAYBE 1 other pair to look nice. everything else is over kill!!
Ariat cowboy boots, and 3 pairs of tennis shoes. None were specifically bought for school though.
He will probably wear his cowboy boots every single day though. With shorts of course.
She has a pretty new pair of Striderite's, lots of crocs/sandals, and a pair of Uggs for winter/fall (thanks grandma!)
The only thing I need to buy is a new pair of Mary Jane's probably brown or pink.
Audrey has a pink pair of cowgirl boots my mom bought her and she wears them almost every day! She's currently riding her bike wearing them.
My BF has tons of cowboy boots, and L decided he needed a pair. I obliged.
expensive!
We get lots of snow here! The Uggs are a must
DD has / will have 1 pair of pumas, green chucks (hmd from DS,) brown maryjanes, fake uggs, and I'll find something black - not sure what style. Eventually, snow boots too. But if the present is any indication, she'll just wear whatever too small, ratty pair from the summer that least matches her outfit.
DS has red chucks, black chucks, sambas, and a crapton of really ugly tennis shoes that are HMD from a friend. When it's warm he has several crocs. And eventually, he'll get some snowboots too.
