Does a rise in temp only happen after ovulation.

I have been taking my basal temp in the morning (almost every day) and on monday, my temp, went from 97.25 to 97.57. The following day, yesterday, it was also 97.57. Today I got a positive OPK. I was testing with first response opks, but today I switched to CBE. Does the shift in temp indicate that I already ovulated, or should I go by the positive OPK. This is my first OPK this cycle, but I am not sure the first response OPKs were working properly. I have had EWCM for days, I had a chemical pregnancy last month. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Do you have a chart we can look at? Typically you will see a rise in temp after ovulation, but it's hard to tell if you don't have a pattern or more information. Wait it out and see if FF gives you CH's. Good luck.

My temps can flucuate that much without ovulation, just through my cycle. You can get a positive OPK without ovulation, or see a positive for several days (since it is just detecting a hormone present before ovulation) I'd need to see the whole chart-that one temp shift alone doesn't really indicate it.

Check out my chart. Temps can vary through out the cyle. Ovulation rise is detected with a sustained rise of 3 days or more. I use the First response OPK's and love them. Also, as you will see in my charts, you can have + opk's and not ovulate and also ovulate and have + opk's for several days after. Keep having sex until your temperatures stay up. I didn't plot my temps etc out on fertility friend. I am scared of the site for some reason. I took OPKs several times thoughout the day, to check for the LH surge, and they were completely negative. Now I am wondering if I just had a bad batch of tests, I feel a little twinging by my ovaries too, so I am thinking that I might just ovulate. I really wasn't expecting much this cycle b/c of the chemical pregnancy. I was just temping to get a start at keeping track. Like I said, I have had a ton of EWCM this month, probably b/c of the chemical. I am trying to mellow out this month, and not overly obsess.
