Should I postpone appt?

I have a dentist appt next Tuesday to get a small filling.  I had my last cleaning on July 6th and obviously when I scheduled this follow-up I was not pregnant.  I have been googling and trying to find info on if it is safe to have this procedure done, or if I should postpone, but I don't see anything definitive.

I guess I should just call my OB to double check, but I wanted to see if anyone knew about this?

    I would call the dentist and ask what their policy is.

    This.  I know last time I was pregnant, my dentist said that they would wait until the baby was born to do any procedures.

    I would call the dentist and tell them you are pg. Many dentist offices have policies with regards to work on expecting mothers. They may require clearance from your OB or wait to do any work until after you've delivered.

    I read in one of my pregnancy books that you should wait until after your 1st tri to schedule any fillings

    Yep - figured that would  be the answer.  Part of me just didn't want to have to tell the dentist since we haven't even told our parents that I am pregnant yet.  Irrational, I know.   I guess I will be making a phone call when I go get lunch (I don't want my co-workers to overhear).

    I had a broken filling a few weeks back and I had schedule a cleaning and an appointment for them to fix the broken filling.  I went on Friday and told my dentist that I was pregnant and he said since my broken filling didn't require drilling or anesthesia, he could fix it no problem.  If I were you, I'd call the doctor just to check.

     ETA: I also read somewhere that not getting a filling filled when it needs to be filled can cause more harm than getting it filled because bacteria can get into your bloodstream.

    Called the dentist.  When I said I was less than 5 weeks along her response was "Oh yeah, we're going to cancel that!".  So I guess I have a few months til I have to get drilled.
