Diva cup?

Does anyone use this?

I used to think it was gross sounding... but after reading a bunch of reviews and reading their site to find out more, I was sold! I ordered one and it should be coming in tomorrow...

Anything I should know?

This. I think I am still a little weirded out by it though. I can't even use tampons comfortably. It seems very environmentally and economically friendly though.
  • I tried using the Instead cups when I was younger and found them to be very messy.  I wasn't impressed.  I might do better now that I'm wiser.  I was probably just putting them in wrong. Embarrassed

I will let you guys know!

I used to love tampons but they just feel weird now.. not the fit, just something.. And I HATE using pads! I read reviews about the diva cup that you can leave it in for 12 hours so I figured it was worth a shot, if even just for night time use... I don't know. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because it would be awesome if it really worked that well! Plus, it was only $22 on Amazon so I figured it was worth a shot for that ;)

  • This is a C&P of a post I wrote about how the DivaCup changed my life (and how I wasn't kidding).

When I first heard of a menstrual cup, I wanted to puke. EWWWW. I was a tampon user, tyvm, and I had no reason to ditch them. They worked fine most of the time and it was what I knew.

But then I looked into it. Sick curiosity, perhaps? But the more I read, the more interested I got. I finally bought one.

It was the best $30 I've ever spent. EVER. It's not messy. It's actually less gross and messy than tampons. And it's so easy it makes me want to cry thinking of all the years I wasted carrying around panty liners, tampons, running to the restroom to change them, worrying about leaving them in too long, leaks, if I forgot a tampon, etc.

The DivaCup is so simple. I have a fairly average flow, which means that I only have to think about it twice a day- when I wake up and when I go to bed. That's it. And you can put it in when you THINK you're getting your period, so you dont have to wait for that dreaded dash to the restroom to keep checking. It's got a learning curve for use, but once I got it (which only took a few minutes after I watched a youtube video on how to fold it) it was the easiest thing.

    Now, I think "Tampons, EWWWWWW!"
  • Oh, and the Diva Cup is completely different than Instead cups. Google pictures of them- nothing at all the same!
  • EmilieMadison, thank you so much for sharing all of that! I actually read SO many reviews that sounded just like what you said, and that's what sold me. I hope I'll have similar luck with it :)

  • I have a Diva cup and a keeper- love, love , love them. So much better.  I can put it in in the am and not worry about it until the evening.  Took me a little bit to get it working right but now I love it.  I just ordered my new Diva for when I get flow back again.
