Birthday party help, please!

I have a bit of a dilemma.

?

I am planning my son's second birthday and we are having it at The Little Gym. My problem is, a lot of his friends have siblings that are a lot older than he ( like 5-7) and I know I should invite them, but what do I do for favors? The party is a Blues Clues theme and currently, I am planning on giving each child a Blues Clues t-shirt, a personalized bag tag, and a Handy Dandy notebook.

?This seems inappropriate to give to the older children, but I don't want them to feel left out AND I'm worried about how they'll feel about participating with a bunch of two year olds.

?

Help!?

  • A free movie pass or a gc for 5.00 to Toy's R US.

  • Older kids will use the notebook more than the little ones I think...my DS got ones of those when he was 1 at his friend's birthday and I have it in his drawer until I think he can use it better if that makes sense.  And they would love the tote too.  If you can get the shirts for them too then get them, if not get something similar that's inexpensive.  As for them participating, talk to the owner about the age range and they should definately be able to cater to all.  And if they don't want to be with the little ones, their parents should not bring them...ok, I am b!tchy.

  • $5 can add up.  What about McDonald's money?  You can buy a book and give each kid as many $ as you want.

btw, do people expect favors?  Personally, I hate them.  Hate them at weddings, showers, and parties.  I'm not having any for DS #1 bday.

  • I don't know if they expect them or not, but I'm sort of ridiculous when it comes to parties. Especially when it's something like Blue that my kid adores...LOL

I like the idea of the McDonald's money....any other ideas are appreciated!?
