Hi on my iTOUCH SORRY FOR THE ALL CAPS. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH A BABY CRYING THROUGH EACH BOTTLE? SHE USED TO LOVE EATING BUT NOW FIGHTS EACH ONE AND I DON'T KNOW WHY. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
most likely is reflux - can be silent reflux (without any spit up). Grayson had it - started at 6w - he was miserable until we got him on meds (zantac 3x's a day).
The hole in the nipple may be too small for her at this point. She could be getting frustrated because she can't get the milk out fast enough to satisfy her hungry belly. I just read about this in Baby Wise.
ours was reflux, one was silent one was not. did zantac 2x/day. and everything on an incline/propped up. have to be burpred REALLY well, eat at a slow enough pace so as not to puke it up (don't know how to make a baby eat slow though). and sometimes really hard crying would make it worse.
I would try the next level up for nipples. if she still fights it, could be reflux. Ds has silent reflux (no spit up) but he fought through all his bottles until we finally figured it out....a month later, stupid docs. We changed docs after that...I digress :-P
Is she arching her back while eating? are you able to hear or feel like a wet burp but nothing comes out? does she seem uncomfortable laying down after eating?
try the nipple and then also try letting her lay at an incline for about 15 minutes after eating, if you can get her to eat. The silent reflux is awful....since it doesn't come out as spit, it just comes like halfway up their throat and then back down, burning their poor little throats twice :-(
call pedi if nipple doesn't work...may need to get meds and also try a new formula. Ds was on similac advance but he took the similac sensitive with cereal in bottle (to make thicker so it was less likely to come up) much better once we found the right relux med and formula combo.
good luck!
