Tommee Tippee products

I was originally registered for Avent bottles, sterilizer and bottle warmer...but after reading so many reviews about Tommee Tippee, I think I'm going to switch.

I have a question, though. I wanted to know if other bottle brands, such as Avent, would fit into the Tommee Tippee sterilzer and warmer? Just in case I don't like the Tommee Tippee bottles, I'm still hoping to use the sterilizer and warmer for other brands I try.

Thanks for any comments or your experience!

  • Your baby will be the one to decide which bottles he/she likes.  You really don't need a sterilizer either.  They are a waste of money.  The bottles only need to be sterilized once before you use them.  If you can boil water, you can sterilize for free :)

  • Ditto PP about the sterilizer.  You don't need a warmer either, we just keep a plastic cup next to the sink and when we need to heat a bottle from the fridge, we just fill the cup with hot tap water, put the bottle in and it's warm in a few minutes.

We never really gave "warm" bottles though, just room temp.  We started giving cooler bottles lately so the transition to milk is easier.

  • First of all, I definitely think you're making the right choice in avoiding the Avents.  These were actually DS's preferred bottles early on but the leaks were awful. We switched to Playtex Drop Ins a few months in.  This time around, my mother and DH actually insisted that we get new bottles for early on when we use the warmer (you can't use drop ins with the warmer).  We will either go with the Born Free or the Tommee Tippees.  I totally agree w/ the PP about skipping the sterilizer- that is a complete waste of money and space IMO.  But we did love our botte warmer- actually had 2- one for each floor.  But we gradually stopped using it by about 4-5 mos so it's not something that I think you HAVE to have... just is nice to have.  Anyways, from looking at them, the Tommee Tippees look pretty wide compared to Avents/others so I'm thinking that any other bottles would have to fit into that warmer- but no real experience.

  • tommee tippee bottles are pretty wide so if you get the bottle warmer and sterlizer, other brands should fit easily into them!
