Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Does LO look how you expected he/she would?

My dd looks nothing how I expected. She is very petite, and looks exactly like my dh.  Because of how my 10 neices and nephews turned out, I fully expected a porker with a giant head that looked like me facially.

I'm pretty happy that she didn't have the big head though... hehe

  • She has the high forehead I guessed she would, but otherwise, she looks almost exactly like my husband did as a little babe. I know she still has a lot of growing / changing to do, though. Can't wait to see how she turns out. Smile

  • I thought Lo would have the funny newborn look...but, he was gorgeous! He did have a period where his expressions looked like an old man...but, he's such a beautiful baby!
  • Facially she looks like I expected but I was bald until I was 2 and DH and I both had very light blonde hair until we were much older. DD has a TON of brown hair. She's 6 weeks old and it still hasn't fallen out!

Nope... DD#1 wasn't sure what to expect at first she looked a little like DH but by a month old she was all me. DD#2 I figured would come out looking more like DH and have his features but she was a carbon copy of her sister.

  • Not at all! I thought she'd come out with  dark brown hair and eyes, just like DH and I did when we were born. Also, DH's brothers married blondes and their kids are all dark haired/eyed so we figured it was a no-brainer for our baby! She was born with blue, blue eyes (yes, I know they might change), light hair and fair skin...just like my dad and brother! Here is a PIP of me and DH and DD is in my siggy!

  • Nope I thought she would be a bald baby and look like DH (his family has strong family genes) BUT she has a head full of dark brown hair and doesn't really look specifically like either of us.  She has a mix of both so I will be interested as she gets older if she takes on characteristics of either of us.
  • I had a hard time envisioning what DD would look like. I was afraid she'd look like DH (not a good look for a female). Thankfully, she is super cute. My family says she looks like me, except we think her eyes will be lighter.

I kind of knew what to expect with DS #2, because of DS #1 (although you never know). DS #2 looked EXACTLY like DH right after he was born. Now he looks more like his big bro - but still more like DH, whereas DS#1 is a mix.

  • No, I really thought DD would come out with very light hair or even bald but she has a very thick head of brown hair which is starting to lighten looking like she will be a blond kid. She really doesn't look distinctly like either one of us but seems to be a good mixture with certain characteristics from each of us. I'm not really sure what I envisioned my child to look like but don't think I could have guessed this, either way, she is beautiful!
  • His face is pretty much spot on but I thought he would have more hair!  It is light brown and very fine.  DH and I both have lots of super dark brown curly hair.

  • I didn't expect DD to look like the spitting image of me as a baby, with only subtle features from DH.  She seemed to have gotten only her hairline, ear shape, cold clammy feet, and shape of her toes from DH.  Now that she's getting older, her ears have filled out to look more like mine, and her hairline is starting to change a bit to look less like DH's, too.

I really thought there would be more of my DH in her, but maybe her features will change as she grows older.  Or maybe DD's future sibling will look more like DH.

  • People tell us DD looks like DH but I think she has characteristics of both of us.  We'll see what happens as she gets older.  Either way, she's cute as can be!  I told my MIL that at least DH is attractive if my daughter is going to look like him.  LOL.

  • nope, i thought she'd look like dh, but she is mini me.... even has my toes!
  • NOPE! I thought she would look more like my DH. He has very dominant features and looks a spitting image of his dad.  She does look like DH in pictures, but it's hard to say who she looks like in person.  She is actually changing a lot though and is starting to look a little like me.  But her facial expressions are all her daddy : )
  • No. We were shocked actually. Ds looks just like his daddy. And was super cute as soon as he came out with his big beautiful eyes (blue then hazel). Dd has tons of dark curly hair, squinty eyes and makes weird faces, lol. But, she has grown into a beautiful baby and has the longest eyelashes. She has moments where she looks like me and then 2 seconds later looks like dh. Looking back at pictures when ds was her age, they are starting to look alike, but when they were born they look totally different. My mom sent me some pictures of me as a baby, and I was NOT cute, lol. As a toddler I think I was cute, but I definitely had the "old man syndrome" when I was born.
