Baby's Only Organic Formula - anyone tried it?

I have to start supplementing now that I'm back to work. I've been doing a lot of research on various formulas and I'm liking this one a lot. Has anyone tried this one? Opinions? Thanks!

  • We just started supplementing with it.  We switched from Earth's Best because it uses hexane-extracted omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids (DHA/ARA).  Yup a mouthful.  At any rate, so far so good with Baby's Only.  I got it on Amazon.com for the best price I could find and free 2 day shipping.  :)

  • I'm doing research on formula too, I am not familiar with what hexane extracted is?  is that bad?
  • My doc just made me nervous about DD's formula.  We switched to target's version of enfamil, etc etc.. asked him about it today if it was okay. He goes, "no, because I don't know who makes it."  Which is true... Off-brand stuff comes from anywhere in the world, don't know the details about how it's made, etc.... and might be the same for organic.  Maybe I'm just paranoid but I thought I'd say.

Also, if the first ingredient is still corn syrup solids, I'd say you're wasting your money.

  • I had to wean my son at 8 months because I got pregnant with baby #3.  Baby's Only is the only Organic formula they sell at our store, and we used it.  I was super happy with it, although ds was much older.  We used the dairy based one (not the soy) and had no problems.  Pediatrician okayed it too, although at the time the baby's only website only recommended it for infants older than one year.  I couldn't tell if this was because they were pro breastfeeding or it really was lacking nutrients needed for a young infant.

    Hope this helps!
