update on animal death post

Thank you EVERYONE for your kind words about our dog passing.  Cam woke up this morning asking where Roxy was and if she was coming home. We told Cam that Roxy was still at the doctor and they had a special place for doggies that were really sick.

After talking to my bff today and her talking to her Mom ( our pedi ). She suggested we give a very minimal explanation. Roxy is too sick to come back home, we love her very much and miss her etc, but she will not be coming back. If he asks more questions ( which I'm sure he will ), answer accordingly to our beliefs. A special place, heaven, etc etc. Then she suggested we buy a toddler book about animals dying. She said that would help alot and of course answer his questions that he asks. But at his age, keep it to g rated etc.

So just thought I would update. Thank you everyone for your input, I appreciate it, and that is why I love all you ladies !

    Great advice from your pedi.  Should you want to look into a book, Dog Heaven By Cynthia Rylant was one that my child development professor used with her children.  I want to buy a copy.
